Alla Milano Fashion Week, un allestimento in grande stile per la prima sfilata italiana del brand dall’acquisizione cinese del 2014, con un omaggio a Mariuccia Mandelli.

At Milano Fashion Week, a magnificent fitting for the first Italian catwalk show of the brand after the Chinese acquisition in 2014, with an homage to Mariuccia Mandelli.

One of the fittings made by Fusina at Milano Fashion Week this year contributed to the success of a great come back in the Italian fashion world. On September 23rd, Krizia’s collection was presented in Italy for the first time from the beginning of the new Chinese era.
The event took place at the brand historical location in 21, Manin street, which was set up by Fusina based on the project of the Milan architecture Studio April. The designers’ task was a very difficult one: they were working on a brand that has always been playing a main role in Italian style history. The collection presented on this occasion is the Spring-Summer 2017, and the first one to be presented in Milan after the brand was acquired by Chinese entrepreneur and fashion designer Zhu Chongyun in 2014.

Team Fusina worked on the fitting of a place able to convey several different meanings at once: it is the renowned Spazio Krizia, a mixed-use theatre placed inside the carriage pavilion of the Melzi d’Eril Palace. Recently restored, is the location where the maison’s founder Mariuccia Mandelli, who passed away in December 2015, used to house cultural events that were well known and appreciated by the city of Milan.
A place where also the visual contrasts reflect the combination between past and present.

In the runway stage, the fitting is dominated by the contraposition between black and white, two colours that well describe the collection, blurred by the careful disposition of the lights. White lacquered stairs, big panels reading the brand’s name in large capital letters, and the hanging lights structure that mirrors the stage shape creating a “runway of lights”.

Three days of works to set up a place able to testify to a great come back in the Italian fashion, carrying with it a new, international flavour. A runway show in which the new Krizia art director Zhu Chongyun reinterpreted elements that Mariuccia Mandelli used to love such as tigers, ruches, animalier printings, black&white patterns.
